Just Another Fangirl
When someone like Paul Ryan - one of THE most misogynistic backward thinking oppressors on social issues is being hailed as an “intellectual leader” for the Republican Party, it is time for me to change parties. Clearly this party to which I have belonged for all of my adult life is no longer the party who carries the banner for the issues closest to my heart.
While I am fiscally very conservative, I am not so fiscally conservative that I am able to elect someone with a CLEAR agenda to throw our society backwards to the days of the worst oppressive mindset this country has ever known. I cannot do that.
So, today is the day where I officially declare myself no longer a Republican. I’m not sure if I’m going to align with the Democrats (the fiscal policies just don’t match with my beliefs), but I know I can no longer support the Republicans in any way whatsoever.
Voting for Romney and Paul is not a vote for a better economic future - it’s a vote for a rebirth of our social sins.
